Dr Worthington graduated from Otago University Dental School in 1982. He rapidly developed an interest in dental implant surgery, and since then he has traveled extensively throughout the USA and Europe to study from leaders in the field, and in doing so, becoming an authority himself. Dr Worthington now lectures on implant dentistry in New Zealand and overseas on a regular basis. Due to the high demand for dental implant surgery in New Zealand, Dr Worthington sold his general dental practice and founded Implant Solutions in 2000, where he limited his work to dental implants. He now performs more dental implant surgery than any other dentist in New Zealand, and provides a fully integrated tooth replacement service, including same day tooth removal and replacement. Dr Worthington amalgamated his Auckland practice with Dr Heidi Sauer in June 2007, and the combined practice now offers world class implant surgery and cosmetic dentistry in our spa-like practice in Newmarket, Auckland. Dr Worthington also practices at Implant Solutions in New Plymouth. Dr Worthington is ACC registered, and was instrumental in developing national ACC guidelines for the provision of dental implant care. He is in the fellowship program of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and is also a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and Auckland Dental Association.
